Project delivery assurance

Shadow
Slider

A large percentage of work performed in organisations is done as projects – specific outcomes to be achieved within a limited time frame by temporary teams. This work is often performed without the benefit of repetition and continuous improvement that help in typical production or line of business environments.

To have good project delivery is critical for organisations. Not only do projects represent vast investments of resources, but to have a project fail will result in high losses as additional opportunity costs will have to be accounted for. In some instances one would need to incur legal costs in order to reclaim these losses. In all instances it is better to avoid failure by judicious management.

Thus it is not surprising that projects present unique challenges that oppose their success. Projects are intricate, dynamic entities that may have many layers of complexity. We typically find the following challenges:

  • Project teams lack of insight and clarity of the project goals and outcomes
  • Projects do not exist in isolation and are often negatively influenced by forces outside the control of the project
  • Role players have varying levels of competence
  • Participants are not sufficiently guided by the wider organisation
  • Resources are too constrained
  • Project planning insufficient
  • Projects not structured appropriately

Where projects span business units the challenges are more severe as the above effects are compounded and expanded, with reduced span of control. This makes these projects almost impossible to execute elegantly. We do not have all the answers, but have some insights that assist with these projects.

Because we have solid and varied experience (and some scars ) picked up in years of project work we feel confident that we can assist your organisation to improve the chances of success with your projects.
